Boys Soccer Roundup: Panthers edge Hilltoppers, 1-0

FORT PLAIN — Daniel Leach scored the game’s only goal in the 15th minute to lift Mayfield to a 1-0 victory over Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest Wednesday.

John Fancher assisted on the goal for the Panthers, who finished with an 8-0 advantage in shots.

Evan Lehr didn’t need to make a save to post the shutout in goal for Mayfield (8-0 overall, 6-0 WAC).

Adan Vasquez made seven saves for Fort Plain (2-5 overall, 1-5 WAC).

Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 4, Galway 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Jack Brundage scored twice to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah to a shutout victory over Galway in a WAC contest.

Trent Barker and Colby Cover also scored for OESJ (7-1 overall, 5-1 WAC), while Zachary Mosher had an assist.

Elias Sanchez made two saves to earn the shutout for the Wolves.

Henry Flint made 11 saves for Galway (5-2 overall, 5-2 WAC).

Bishop Gibbons 2, Northville 1

NORTHVILLE — James Kim and Wil Lawson scored to lead Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons to a WAC victory over Northville.

Connor Barber had an assist for the Golden Knights, who improved to 3-3-1 in WAC play.

Nate Reidell scored the lone goal for the Falcons on an assist from Lucas Jetty.

Northville (1-8 overall, 0-6 WAC) is scheduled to host Fonda-Fultonville on Friday.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 4, Canajoharie 0

BERNE — Kiernan Hanley scored twice to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a WAC victory over Canajoharie.

Travis Jackson and Dylan Mosbey also scored for BKW (4-2 WAC), while Slade Pulliam had two assists. Earl Bascom added an assist for the Bulldogs.

Canajoharie slipped to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in WAC play with the loss.

The Cougars are scheduled to travel to Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. game.

Schoharie 2, Middleburgh 0

MIDDLEBURGH — Skyler Jankowski scored both goals to lead Schoharie to a WAC victory over Middleburgh.

Noah Fagnani had an assist for the Indians.

Jacob Fagnani made 14 saves to post the shutout for Schoharie.

Will Bankston made 18 saves for Middleburgh.

Center State Conference

Dolgeville 4, West Canada Valley 0

DOLGEVILLE — Noah Nichols, Chandler Riddell, Jake Null and John Wright all scored to lead Dolgeville to a victory over West Canada Valley.

Brian Lamphere and Cameron Manchester combined to make 14 saves to share the shutout in goal for Dolgeville (1-3 overall).

Caden Ludwig made 18 saves for West Canada Valley.
