FMCC volleyball goes 1-2 in pod play

BUFFALO — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women’s volleyball team traveled to Erie Community College on Saturday to compete in the first pod play event of the season.

FMCC competed against host Erie, Jamestown and Niagara. The Raiders dropped their matches to Erie and Jamestown, but rebounded to beat Niagara.

FMCC lost to Erie in its first match, 3-2, by scores of 25-18, 21-25, 25-14, 24-26 and 15-9.

In their second match, the Lady Raiders lost 3-0 to Jamestown by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-18.

FMCC ended its day on a high note, posting a 3-0 victory over Niagara by scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-17.

Gabby Smith finished the three match with 85 assists for FMCC, while Megan Ryder posted 50 digs, Bri Eagan finished with 39 kills to lead the Raiders and Brianna Port led with eight blocks.
