FMCC volleyball goes 3-0 in pod play

UTICA — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women’s volleyball team traveled to Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday to compete in pod play. FM matched up against Broome, Tompkins Cortland and Corning. The Lady Raiders went 3-0 on the day.

In the first match, FMCC beat the Broome Hornets 3-1 by scores of 25-13, 25-19, 26-28 and 25-18. Megan Ryder led with 16 kills in the match and Bri Egan had 24 digs. Gabrielle Smith led with 44 assists and Brianna Port 5 blocks.

In the second match, FMCC defeated Tompkins Cortland 3-0 by scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-10. Ryder and Eagan led with 12 and 10 kills each. Raina Danylak had two blocks and Aspen Darling finished with four digs.

In the final match of the day, FMCC finished Corning 3-0. The Lady Raiders won by scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 26-24. Eagan had 14 kills and 14 digs in the match and smith finished with 28 assists.

FMCC will travel back to Mohawk Valley on Wednesday to take on the Hawks at 6 p.m.
