FMCC volleyball tops Mohawk Valley

UTICA — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women’s volleyball team remained undefeated in Mountain Valley Conference play with a 3-1 victory over Mohawk Valley Community College on Wednesday.

The Raiders dropped the first set 26-24, but came back to win the next three by scores of 26-24, 26-24 and 25-15. 

Megan Ryder led FMCC to victory with 26 kills and 10 digs. 

“Meg had a great night.  She was on fire, and led her team to victory. Her attitude and ability to put the ball away really secured the win,” FMCC coach Rachael Salvione said. 

Bri Eagan had another strong night with 22 kills and 10 digs for the Raiders and Gabrielle Smith led with 45 assists. Raina Danylak and Brianna Port combined nine blocks for FMCC.

Raquel Borst had 12 kills and three blocks for Mohawk Valley, while Claire Ladlee posted 19 kills, five blocks and three aces. McKenzie Homer added 11 digs and seven kills for the Hawks.

The Raiders will travel to Herkimer College on Saturday to compete in pod play.  They will match up against region foes Cayuga, Jefferson and Onondaga.
