Girls Soccer Roundup: Lady Braves outlast Lady Panthers, 5-3

FONDA — Alyssa Duval netted three goals to lift Fonda-Fultonville to a 5-3 victory over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer contest Wednesday at John G. Boshart Field.

Emma Rhodes finished with a goal and three assists for the Lady Braves, while Abigail Lombardoni also scored. Stella Williams added an assist for FFCS.

Lindsey Hampton scored all three goals for Mayfield.

Ryleigh Hesch made eight saves for Fonda-Fultonville.

Syd Benton made 12 stops for the Lady Panthers.

Fonda-Fultonville (3-2 overall, 3-1 WAC) is scheduled to travel to Broadalbin-Perth Friday for a non-league game at 7 p.m.

Mayfield (0-5-2 overall, 0-3-1 WAC) is slated to travel to Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville on Friday for a 7 p.m. WAC contest.

Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Alexis Klock scored twice to lead Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a WAC victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Madisyn Schell also scored for the Lady Wolves, while Ashley Engle, Rebecca Trumble and Kamden Battisti each had an assist.

Ashley Shelmandine made two saves to post the shutout for OESJ (3-1 overall, 2-1 WAC).

Nikki Filkins made eight saves for Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Lady Wolves are slated to host Mayfield on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Northville 9, Duanesburg 0

DUANESBURG — Brytney Moore finished with five goals to power Northville to a WAC victory over Duanesburg.

Hannah Coupas had two goals and three assists for the Lady Falcons, while Kerrigan Groff had a goal and an assist. Grace Forsey also scored for Northville (5-1 overall, 4-0 WAC).

Emily Shepard made seven saves to post the shutout for the Lady Falcons.

Madison Stealy finished with eight saves for Duanesburg.

Schoharie 7, Fort Plain 0

SCHOHARIE — Carrie Krohn finished with two goals and an assist to lead Schoharie to a WAC victory over Fort Plain.

Adrianna Cornell also scored twice for Schoharie (4-0 WAC), while Meghan Krohn had a goal and an assist. MacKenzie Barton and Katie Krohn also scored for Schoharie.

Jayde Cotton made 14 saves for Fort Plain (1-3-1 overall, 1-1-1 WAC).

Middleburgh 1, Mekeel Christian 0

SCOTIA — Kelsey Terrell scored the game’s only goal to lead Middleburgh to a WAC victory over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Ruby Acker made three saves for Middleburgh, while Angel Barton made seven stops for Mekeel Christian.

Center State Conference

Little Falls 7, Dolgeville 0

DOLGEVILLE — Nicole Failing finished with six goals and an assist to lead Little Falls to a victory over Dolgeville.

Gabby Sylstra had a goal and three assists for the Mounties, while Geena Merctil had two assists. Kharla Gullis also had an assist for Little Falls.

Kylie Miles made 12 saves to post the shutout for the Mounties.

Bobbie Lee Hall and Ryanne Williams combined to make 25 saves for Dolgeville (1-3-2) overall.


Canajoharie 2, Sharon Springs 0, OT

SHARON SPRINGS — Kylee Rickard and Abigail Smith scored overtime goals to lead Canajoharie to a non-league victory over Sharon Springs. Maddy Elliott had an assist for the Lady Cougars.

Madison Koelbl and Jocelyn Hammons combined to make eight saves for Canajoharie (3-2 overall).

Miranda Mabie had 12 saves for Sharon Springs.
