H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Lady Bills defeat Queensbury, 3-1

JOHNSTOWN — Macenzie Ward finished with 34 assists, eight digs, six kills, three service points and two blocks to lead Johnstown to a 3-1 victory over Queensbury in a Foothills Council volleyball match at Warren Street Elementary School.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-21, 25-23, 14-25 and 26-24.

Janay Douglas finished with 18 digs, 12 kills, eight points, three aces and a block for Johnstown (4-2 overall, 3-2 Foothills), while Amber Tesi had seven kills.

Zoe Petrie had 13 points, 12 digs, two aces and two kills for the Lady Bills, Alexys Hutchins had six points, five kills, three blocks and two aces, and Sadie Blowers posted 16 digs, five points, four kills, three aces and two assists.

Bailey Gengel recorded 44 assists and four aces for Queensbury (2-4 overall, 2-4 Foothills), while Isabella Carusone had 25 digs.

Gillian Canavan had 23 points, eight digs and four aces for the Spartans, Isabella Salatino had 18 digs and four blocks, and Andraya Warner-Davis added seven kills.

Gloversville 3, Schuylerville 1

GLOVERSVILLE — Lucy McCredie finished with 20 assists and four aces to lead Gloversville to a Foothills Council victory over Schuylerville.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-10, 24-26, 25-15 and 25-22.

Macey Salvione had eight kills, eight aces and eight digs for Gloversville (2-4 overall, 2-4 Foothills), while Abbey Johnson posted nine kills and three aces. Alexyss Hayes finished with 12 service points and five kills for the Huskies.

Grace Beaulac had nine digs and eight assists for Schuylerville (3-5 overall, 0-5 Foothills), while Colette Stone posted 13 digs. Lily Clays registered four kills for the Black Horses and Cheyenne Crandall added five digs and three aces.


Middleburgh 3, Canajoharie 1

MIDDLEBURGH — Camryn Leggett finished with eight kills and weight digs to lead Middleburgh to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Canajoharie on Thursday.

The Knights won by scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-16.

Cheyenne Haemmerle posted 15 service points and 13 assists for Middleburgh.

Canajoharie slipped to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in WAC play with the loss.
