Schuylerville rallies for 2-0 victory over Johnstown in Foothills soccer

JOHNSTOWN — Emma Nesbitt scored to break a scoreless tie at halftime to lead Schuylerville to a 2-0 victory over Johnstown Thursday night at Johnstown High School.

Amy Moreau received the assist on the play and the Black Horses’ second goal of the half came off a own goal by the Lady Bills.

Allison Morey collected 19 saves in net for Johnstown (3-3-0) while Caitlin Kelleher collected for saves for Schuylerville (6-0-0).

Schuylerville also held n 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

South Glens Falls 5, Gloversville 1

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Amaya Naja connected for four goals to power South High to the Foothills Council victory.

Naja received two assists from Morgan Smith and one apiece from Aly Fish and Brooke DelSignore. Fish rounded out the Bulldogs scoring.

Harmony Philo picked up Gloversville’s lone goal early in the second half.

Alex Benfatti made 13 saves in goal for Gloversville, while Karlee Taber made two stops for South High.

Amsterdam 4, Hudson Falls 1, OT

HUDSON FALLS — Jael Irizarry broke a 1-1 deadlock four minutes into the first overtime period to boost Amsterdam to the league win.

Jaclyn Stanavich and Antonia May added goals in the second overtime period to build the 4-1 final score.

Abby Swartz connected for Hudson Falls (0-5) 10 minutes into the second half before Lucia Liverio tied the game with 25 minutes left in regulation.

Abra LaFontaine collected 20 saves in goal for Hudson Falls, while Jareymarie Aponte made 12 stops in net for the Lady Rams.

Hudson Falls held the advantage in corner kicks 5-3 in the match.

Glens Falls 5, Broadalbin-Perth 1

GLENS FALLS — Cate Barclay and Stephanie Meehan scored two goals apiece and Shauna Carey added a goal in the Lady Indians’ victory.

Naomi Fraser accounted for Broadalbin-Perth’s first-half goal.

Broadalbin-Perth held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Makayla Bennett made 25 saves in goal for Glens Falls, while Morgan Rossi finished with 11 saves for the Lady Patriots.

Indian Lake-Long Lake 5,

Wells 3, OT

INDIAN LAKE — Jonni Stuart and Joy Trezise staked Wells to a 2-0 lead before Lillian Dechene and Maria Black scored for Indian Lake-Long Lake to tie the game at half time.

Trezise and Dechene both scored in the second half to send the match into overtime.

Shelbey Benton finished a pass from Karmen Howe for what proved to be the game winner in the first overtime and Dechene added an insurance goal in the second OT period for the 5-3 final score.

Sierra Mauro collected 25 saves in goal for Wells, while her counterpart Ashley Ghostlaw had 11.

Indian Lake-Long Lake held a 12-9 advantage in corner kicks in the match.

Boys soccer

Little Falls 6, Dolgeville 1

LITTLE FALLS — Carlin Straney netted three goals and had an assist for the Mounties in the Center State Conference victory.

Ryan Feane added two goals and Kyle Celio converted on a penalty kick for Little Falls.

Nicky Visconti had two assist and Kyle Stowell added an assist for the Mounties, while Andrew Celio made 14 saves in goal.

Owen Davies accounted for Dolgeville’s goal.
