Foothills Council girls cross-country champion Olivia Lazarou of Amsterdam topped the list of local runners named to the Foothills Council all-star team.
Lazarou, a senior, capped off her cross-country career at Amsterdam with a 10th-place finish Saturday at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B championships at Wayne High School.
Johnstown’s Julia Sarullo, who placed 10th Saturday at the NYSPHSAA Class C championships, was named to the second team along with Gloversville’s Daley Jo Christman and Broadalbin-Perth’s Gabrielle Larsen.
Gloversville’s Rhea Winter, Broadalbin-Perth’s Samantha Murphy and Amsterdam’s Lauren Santiago received honorable mention.
On the boys side, Amsterdam’s Trevor Dzikowicz was the top honoree with his second-team selection.
Johnstown’s Gabe Cole, Mark Cwiakala and Michael Simone received honorable mention along with Gloversville’s Skyler Reed and Broadalbin-Perth’s Micah Smith.
