FMCC men, women top SUNY Adirondack

QUEENSBURY — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College basketball teams both picked up their first wins of the season with a sweep of SUNY Adirondack on Saturday at.

Mayfield-graduate Julie Hampton led the Lady Raiders (1-2) to a 64-53 victory over Adirondack, while Dante Morgan powered the FMCC men (1-2) to a 83-64 win over the Timberwolves.

Hampton delivered a double-double of 22 points, including a 5-of-9 effort from behind the 3-point arc, to go with 10 rebounds and four assists.

Diasia DeBoue added a double-double of 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists and Johnstown’s Raina Danylak finished with 14 points and six rebounds.

Kaicey Sardina had a 13-point, 13 rebounds for Adirondack and Kylee Brand 14 rebounds and 12 points.

For the FMCC men, Morgan converted on 17 of 20 free throws en route to his game-high 27-point performance, while Jaleel Jean Jacques had a double-double of 13 rebounds and 10 points and Darren Demmitt added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Fulton-Montgomery will continue its road trip today with a doubleheader at Jefferson Community College before returning home for a double-header against Schenectady County Community College on Nov. 28.
