FMCC bowlers open league slate

SCHENECTADY — The Fulton-Montgomery Communuty College men’s and women’s bowling teams began their conference portion of their schedule Wednesday at Boulevard Bowl with mixed results.

In the opening match, the women’s team finished second overall among the five teams. Freshman Makayla Williams of Esperance, bowling in her first varsity match, set a school record high single of 232, and school record high triple of 616. Freshman Ally Colp of Utica posted a high score of 200 in the first match.

For the men’s team in the first match, freshman Richard Taylor had the high series of 551. Senior captain Charlie Cusano was next with a 542 series and freshman Brandon Little posted a 512. High singles for the rest of the team were Bryan Green 212, Robert Ward 166, and David Servello 165. The Raiders finished fourth out of six teams.

In the second match, lane conditions became harder and the scores reflected that. The women finished third, high singles were Freshman Shayla Staves of Little Falls with a career high of 191, Makayla Williams 180, Shea Weaver 178, Ally Colp 174, and Angel LaFreniere 159.

The men’s team again finished fourth. High singles for the Raiders were Bryan Green 202 (533), David Servello 190, Charlie Cusano 179 (506), Brandon Little 176, Richard Taylor 172, and Robert Ward with a 156.

The next conference match is scheduled for Jan. 26 at Pin-O-Rama in Utica, hosted by Mohawk Valley Community College.
