Former Mohawk earns national honors

AMSTERDAM — Former Amsterdam Mohawks outfielder Brett Kinneman of North Carolina State was named the Rawlings/Perfect Game National Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday.

Kinneman’s summer season with Amsterdam was cut short in 2016 due a shoulder separation.

Kinneman had five home runs last week for the Wolfpack and leads the team in homers.

For the week, he went 13-for-21 (.619 batting average) with 15 RBIs and a couple of stolen bases while picking up three walks.
