CROWN POINT — Zach Spaulding scored 28 points to lead third-seeded Crown Point to an 81-65 double-overtime victory over sixth-seeded Wells in a Section VII Class D quarterfinal Saturday.
The Panthers outscored the Indians, 20-4, in the second overtime to earn the victory.
Jake LaDeau scored 26 points for Crown Point, while Hunter Pertak added 12.
Tre Zimmerman scored 22 points to lead Wells. He forced overtime with a layup at the end of regulation.
Justin Foster scored 17 points for the Indians, while Ryan Bolebruch added 12 points.
Crown Point advances to face second-seeded Schroon Lake in the semifinals Wednesday at AuSable Valley High School at 6 p.m. The second-seeded Wildcats posted a 54-46 victory over seventh-seeded Chazy in their quarterfinal contest.
Wells finished its season with a 12-9 overall record.
