Winter weather wipes out local slate

Friday’s winter weather wiped out the high school athletic schedule.

The Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville boys basketball team will face Whitehall in the Class D title game today at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls at noon.

The other four championship games will take place today as well.

The Class C title game between Hoosick Falls and Lake George is set for 1:45 p.m., while the Class B game between Mekeel Christian Academy and Schalmont is set for 3:30 p.m.

Amsterdam will face Mohonasen in the Class A championship game at 5:15 p.m., and the Class AA title game between Colonie and Shenendehowa is set for 7 p.m.

The championship game schedule for girls basketball also was shuffled by the weather.

Amsterdam had its Class A title game with Averill Park moved to today at 6 p.m.

Hartford will play Argyle for the Class D title today at 11 a.m., followed by the Class B title game between Voorheesville and Tamarac at 12:45 p.m. The Class AA championship game between Bethlehem and Colonie is set for 2:30 p.m., and the Class C championship game between Mekeel Christian Academy and Cambridge is set for 4:15 p.m.
