BOSTON — A total of four area runners completed the 26.2-mile course in the Boston Marathon on Monday.
Canajoharie’s Ambrose Schaffer was the top area finisher, placing 3,808th overall with a time of 3:12.34.
Sprakers’ Craig Dubois was 4,604th with a time of 3:16.42, while Broadalbin’s Ashley Willson was 8,044th with a time of 3:30.17.
Dubois posted a time of 3:08.14 in 2017 to place 2,483rd overall and placed 6,116th with a time of 3:24.30 in 2016.
St. Johnsville’s John Geesler completed his 31st consecutive Boston Marathon, placing 20,007th overall with a time of 4:26.04.
Last year, he placed 6,407th overall with a time of 3:27.36. Geesler was 8,706th overall in 2016 with a time of 3:33.25.
A total of 26,948 runners started the race and 25,746 runners finished the event.
The field included runners from 94 countries outside the United States, according to the marathon website.
