JHS boys lacrosse wins fifth straight

JOHNSTOWN — Garrett Way finished with four goals and two assists to lead Johnstown to a 12-7 victory over Voorheesville in a Wasaren League boys lacrosse contest Friday at Knox Field.

Trevor Murphy had two goals and three assists for the Sir Bills, Josh Hoyt had two goals and an assist and Kerry Blackwood scored twice. Andy Sitterly had a goal and an assist for Johnstown (5-1 overall, 4-1 Wasaren), while Zach Serpa also scored.

Zack Maxson made nine saves for the Sir Bills.

Johnstown is scheduled to travel to Cambridge on Tuesday.

 

Foothills Council

Schuylerville 17, Amsterdam 3

SCHUYLERVILLE — Anthony Barone-Lopez had two goals and an assist for Amsterdam in a Foothills Council loss to Schuylerville on Thursday.

Matt Johnson made 24 saves for the Rams.
