Lady Panthers stop Fort Plain, 8-4

MAYFIELD — After suffering back-to-back losses, the Mayfield Lady Panthers returned to the win column with an 8-4 win over Fort Plain in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday at Mayfield High School.

Lindsey Hampton led the Lady Panthers (3-2 overall, 3-1 WAC) with a double, single and two RBIs, while Taryn LaFontaine had a double, single and two runs scored. Sydney Sheldon, Kaylee Hampton and Shelby VanNostrand all had a single and an RBI, while Juliana Buyce singled.

For Fort Plain, Bella Page had two singles and an RBI, while Michaela Stockwell doubled and scored twice and Olivia Kennedy had a single and two RBIs.

Queensbury 4, Amsterdam 0

AMSTERDAM — Jordan Knapp went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI to help Queensbury improve to 4-2 in the league with its win over Amsterdam Thursday at Shuttleworth Park.

Shelby Lamont led Amsterdam with two singles.

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville’s Abagail Johnson broke up Emily Joey’s no-hit bid with her single as the Lady Wolves dropped a non-league game Thursday.

OESJ will host Old Forge at 4:30 p.m. today.
