Raiders baseball splits with HVCC

JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College baseball team split its Mountain Valley Conference doubleheader with Hudson Valley Community College Sunday at the Route 67 campus.

FMCC won the opening game in nine innings, 2-1, while HVCC won the night cap, 7-5.

Cory Moore and Brogan Baker both doubled for the Raiders in the opening game, while Bradley Smith picked up the complete-game victory.

Nick Hansen homered for the Vikings in the opener, while Nick Thomas had a double.

Jackson Wenstrom picked up four RBIs with a home run and a double in the second game for the Jabin Weaver-coached Vikings. Jonathan Montesanti also homered and Hansen doubled for HVCC.

Benjamin McHarg had a two-run home run for FMCC in the night cap.

The Raiders will take to the road to play Mohawk Valley Community College on Tuesday.
