Winton, Dann qualify for  Pepsi Youth Championship Tournament

A pair of local bowlers have qualified for the finals at the New York State Pepsi Tournament in Rome on May 19.

Mick Winton of Johnstown and Mayfield’s Madison Dann won their respective divisions on March 25 at the Region 6 Pepsi Tournament at King Pin’s Alley Family Fun Center in South Glens Falls.

Winton, an eighth-grade student at Knox Junior High School, won the Under-15 boys division with a 287-668 triple, while Dann, a sixth-grade student at Mayfield Elementary School, rolled a 170-482 triple to win the Under-12 girls division.

The top two finishers in the five divisions advanced to the May 19 championships.

Winton is a two-year member of the Johnstown High School varsity bowling team, carrying a 199 average and was a second team Foothills All-Star selection this year.

At 12-years-old, Dann carries a 141 average and participates in league and many benefit tournament held at Arterial Lanes which is operated by her parents.

Both Dann and Winton represented Arterial Lanes at the Region 6 Pepsi Tournament, along with Darryn Fallis, who placed third in the Under-10 boys division with a 420 triple and Adrian Dorman who placed third in the Under-15 boys division with a 642 triple.
