Boys Soccer Roundup: Queensbury cruises to Foothills Council victory over Johnstown

QUEENSBURY — Aidan Jordi-Donnelly finished with two goals and two assists to lead Queensbury to an 8-0 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council boys soccer contest Friday.

Teddy Borgos also scored twice for the Spartans, while Lorenzo Cicogna had a goal and two assists. Drew Crawford and Asa Edwards each had a goal and an assist for Queensbury (8-1 overall, 6-0 Foothills), while Peter Crawford also scored. Kyle Miller and Riley Grant each had an assist for the Spartans, who outshot Johnstown 38-4.

Ethan Willis (2 saves) and Jack Sylvia (1 save) shared the shutout for Queensbury, which recorded its sixth straight shutout.

Josh Hoyt made 16 saves for Johnstown (1-6 overall, 1-6 Foothills).

Schuylerville 6, Gloversville 2

SCHUYLERVILLE — Nick Budesheim scored twice to lead Schuylerville to a Foothills Council victory over Gloversville.

Zach Saddlemire and Matt McCarthy each had a goal and an assist for the Black Horses, while Mike Lanfear and Jared Everleth also scored.

Liam Armstrong also had an assist for Schuylerville (7-2 overall, 6-1 Foothills).

Damian Bruce scored both goals for Gloversville (0-6 overall, 0-6 Foothills).

Drew Phillips made three saves for Schuylerville.

Cayden King (10 saves) and Jacob Kataneksza (5 saves) split time in goal for the Dragons.

South Glens Falls 1, Broadalbin-Perth 0

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Logan Carruthers scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Bobby Bruschini to lift South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Broadalbin-Perth.

South Glens Falls improved to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in Foothills play with the win, while Broadalbin-Perth slipped to 3-3 overall and 3-3 in Foothills play.

Glens Falls 2, Amsterdam 1

GLENS FALLS — Mitchell Riopelle scored the game-winning goal to lift Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam.

Spencer Williams assisted on the goal for the Indians, who also benefitted from an own goal by Amsterdam.

Rico Reyes scored the lone goal for Amsterdam (2-4 overall, 2-4 Foothills).

Ben Difiore made four saves for Glens Falls (2-4 overall, 2-4 Foothills).

Ian Healy made five stops for the Rams.

Scotia-Glenville 4, Hudson Falls 3

HUDSON FALLS — Jared O’Connor scored twice to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Hudson Falls.

David Currie and Julian Aldi also scored for Scotia-Glenville (4-2 overall, 4-2 Foothills). Aldi also had an assist for the Tartans.

Ryan Melucci, Carter Lewis and Shane Grimes scored for Hudson Falls (4-4 overall, 3-3 Foothills). Lewis also had an assist for the Tigers.

Dominic Jack made four saves for Scotia-Glenville, while Justin Fenton made seven stops for Hudson Falls.


Galway 2, Northville 1

NORTHVILLE — Charlie Clarke and Rowan Smith scored to lead Galway to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Northville.

Nate Reidell scored the lone goal for the Falcons.

Henry Flint made eight saves for Galway (2-1-1 overall, 1-0-1 WAC).

Chase Wood made three stops for Northville (1-5 overall, 1-3 WAC).

Fort Plain 5, Mekeel Christian 4, OT

FORT PLAIN — Ethan Reese, Jaxson Yacowenia and Ethan Spaulding all had a goal and an assist to lead Fort Plain to an overtime victory over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Josh Nellis and Ethan Schoch also scored for the Hilltoppers, while Troy Butler had an assist.

Schoch’s goal was the game winner for Fort Plain and came in the first overtime on an assist from Butler.

Lens Lima scored twice for Mekeel Christian, while Daniel McCarty had a goal and an assist. Rian Dean also scored for the Lions, while Daniel Johnston added an assist.

Rob Jordan made 10 saves for Fort Plain (3-1 overall, 2-0 WAC).

Ilan Martuscello made 12 saves for Mekeel Christian.

Bishop Gibbons 6, OESJ 3

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Wil Lawson netted a hat trick to power Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Conner Barber scored twice for the Golden Knights (2-1 WAC), while Nicholas Gosh also scored.

Jack Brundage scored twice for OESJ (4-1 overall, 2-1 WAC), while Tyler Leon also scored. Jaedyn Logan Dillenbeck had an assist for the Wolves, who outshot Bishop Gibbons by a 22-10 margin and had an 18-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Cole Nelson made 10 saves for Bishop Gibbons, while Adan Vasquez had four saves for OESJ.

Center State Conference

Little Falls 4, Dolgeville 3

LITTLE FALLS — Carlin Straney and Kyle Stowell each scored twice to lead Little Falls to a victory over Dolgeville.

Thomas Sadekowski had an assist for the Mounties.

Jacob Null scored twice for Dolgeville (3-2 overall), while Garrett Lettow also scored.

Ian Rando made 14 saves for Little Falls.

Brian Lamphere made 20 saves for the Blue Devils.
