FMCC cross country kicks off its season

MARCY — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College men’s cross country team opened up its 2018 season at the SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational on Saturday. 

There were 10 total teams competing in the 6K race with 110 runners. 

Gabriel LoBaido led the Raiders, placing 64th with a time of 23:50.4. Clane Newcomer finished 97th with a time of 26:57.8 

Logan Roots of Royal Military College of Canada won the 6K men’s race with a course record time of 18:44.

Oneonta won the team title with 30 points, Utica College was second with 45 points and Hudson Valley Community College was third with 111 points.

In the women’s race, William Smith’s Riley Poisson set a course record with her 4K time of 16:25.3.

Utica won the team title with 28 points, William Smith was second with 46 points and Oneonta was third with 70 points.

FMCC is scheduled to compete next Saturday at SUNY Cobleskill.
