Girls Soccer Roundup: Gloversville blanks Fonda-Fultonville, 1-0

GLOVERSVILLE — Angel Anderson scored the game’s only goal to lead Gloversville to a 1-0 victory over Fonda-Fultonville in a non-league girls soccer contest Wednesday at Gloversville High School.

Sydney Loux assisted on the goal for the Lady Dragons

Katie Hastings made five saves to post her second shutout of the season for Gloversville, which outshot FFCS by a 30-5 margin.

The Lady Dragons also finished with a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Gloversville (3-1 overall) is scheduled to travel to Hudson Falls on Friday for a Foothills Council contest at 4:30 p.m., while Fonda-Fultonville (0-3 overall) is scheduled to host Middleburgh on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Johnstown 1, Amsterdam 1

AMSTERDAM — Taylor Vose scored in the first overtime to help Johnstown earn a draw with Amsterdam in a Foothills Council contest at Lynch Literacy Academy.

Antonia May scored in the second overtime session for Amsterdam.

Jarey Aponte made 10 saves for Amsterdam (0-2-1 overall, 0-2-1 Foothills), which is scheduled to host Schuylerville at Amsterdam High School on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Johnstown (0-1-1 overall, 0-1-1 Foothills) is scheduled to host Glens Falls on Friday at 5 p.m.

Scotia-Glenville 5, Broadalbin-Perth 0

SCOTIA — Annamarie Piccirillo scored twice to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Broadalbin-Perth.

Tanya Leggiero had a goal and an assist for the Tartans, while Megan Steele and Annika Nielsen also scored.

Angelina Suarez and Rylee O’Connor each had an assist for Scotia-Glenville.

Morgan Rossi (14 saves) and Lauralie Grainer (4 saves) combined to make 18 stops for Broadalbin-Perth (2-1 overall, 1-1 Foothills).

South Glens Falls 6, Hudson Falls 0

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Amya Naja finished with three goals and two assists to power South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Hudson Falls.

Marlee James scored twice for the Bulldogs, while Aly Fish had a goal and three assists. Hannah Breen and Ginger Kohanek each had an assist for South Glens Falls (3-0 overall, 3-0 Foothills).

Molly Rafferty and Deme Kellogg each made one save to share the shutout in goal for the Bulldogs.

Abra LaFontaine made 23 saves for Hudson Falls (0-2 overall, 0-2 Foothills).

Schuylerville 9, Glens Falls 2

GLENS FALLS — Cassandra Cooper and Brooke Keefer each finished with three goals and an assist to lead Schuylerville to a Foothills Council victory over Glens Falls.

Morgan Zenio had two goals and an assist for the Black Horses, while Lindsey Fish, Kalli Hewitt and Jenna Watson each had an assist.
