Girls Soccer Roundup: Strouse’s hat trick powers Northville past Duanesburg

NORTHVILLE — Bre Strouse netted a hat trick to lead Northville to a 7-1 victory over Duanesburg in a Western Athletic Conference girls soccer contest Monday at the Prospect Street Fields.

Brytney Moore had a goal and three assists for the Lady Falcons, while Kerrigan Groff had a goal and an assist. Kaytelenn VanHeusen and Grace Forsey also scored for Northville (5-2 overall, 3-1 WAC), while Madison Whittaker and Morgan Mackey each had an assist.

Allison McLaughlin scored the lone goal for Duanesburg on an assist from Olivia Harris.

The Lady Falcons are scheduled to travel to Schoharie on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

Mayfield 2, Fonda-Fultonville 1

MAYFIELD — Lindsey Hampton finished with a goal and an assist to lift Mayfield to a WAC victory over Fonda-Fultonville in the first game on Mayfield’s new field.

Kelsey Meca also scored for the Lady Panthers, who improved to 3-2-1 overall and 3-0 in WAC play

Alyssa Duval scored the lone goal for Fonda-Fultonville (1-6 overall, 1-3 WAC), which was outshot by a 14-2 margin.

Kat Knecht made one saves for Mayfield, while Carly Atty made nine stops for Fonda-Fultonville.


Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

BERNE — Abby Johnson and Ashley Engle scored to lift Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a WAC victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Ashlee Shelmandine made two saves to post the shutout for OESJ (3-1-3 overall, 2-0 WAC), which outshot BKW by a 32-2 margin.

Nicole Filkins (10 saves) and Ashlyn Haney (7 saves) split time in goal for Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Schoharie 9, Fort Plain 0

FORT PLAIN — Katie Krohn had four goals and an assist to lead Schoharie to a WAC victory over Fort Plain.

Maddie Phelan registered two goal and an assist for the Indians, while Meghan Krohn had a goal and two assists.

Chrissy Aulita and Shawna Bailey also scored for Schoharie, while MacKenzie Barton had two assists.

Maddie Bland made jut one save to post the shutout for the Indians.

Jayde Cotton (11 saves) and Quinn Jones (14 saves) split time in goal for Fort Plain.

Middleburgh 5, Mekeel Christian 1

MIDDLEBURGH — Rylie Smith finished with four goals and an assist to power Middleburgh to a WAC victory over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Vivian Hanley also scored for the Knights, while Alyssa Waymen and Jillian Acker each had an assist.

Madison Show scored the lone goal for Mekeel Christian.

Ruby Acker made three saves for Middleburgh and Angel Barton made 10 saves for Mekeel Christian.

Northern Soccer League

Wells 3, Schroon Lake 1

WELLS — Alexis Brooks, Joy Trezise and Jonni Stuart scored to lead Wells to a Northern Soccer League victory over Schroon Lake.

Alyssa Decourse scored the lone goal for the Wildcats.

Wells (2-1-1 overall, 2-1-1 NSL) is scheduled to host Crown Point on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Center State Conference

Little Falls 5, Dolgeville 1

DOLGEVILLE — Gabby Sylstra finished with two goals and an assist to lead Little Falls to a victory over Dolgeville.

Nicole Failing had a goal and two assists for the Mounties, while Olivia Lindsay and Olivia Langdon also scored.

Emily Frasier scored the lone goal for Dolgeville on an assist from Rylee Lamphere. Kylie Miles made 10 saves for Little Falls, while Ryanne Williams made 13 stops for Dolgeville.
