H.S. Golf Roundup: Johnstown edges Queensbury

JOHNSTOWN — Ethan Wager carded a 36 to lead Johnstown to a 171-175 victory over Queensbury in a Foothills Council golf match at Fox Run Golf Club on Monday.

Colin Kowalski and Tyler Kortz each had rounds of 43 for the Sir Bills, while Noah Bowne added a 49.

Connor Affinito led Queensbury with a round of 40, while Nate VanAnden had a 43.

Kevin Milza and Alex Gibbs each had rounds of 46 for the Spartans.

Johnstown is scheduled to travel to Amsterdam today for a 4 p.m. match at Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course.

Broadalbin-Perth 178, Amsterdam 188

AMSTERDAM — Matt Danise finished with a 43 to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam at Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course.

Stuart Bond, Connor Canale and Mike Piska all finished with rounds of 45 for the Patriots, who improved to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in Foothills play.

C.J. Durinick led Amsterdam with a 44, while Erin Rivera carded a 45. Ryan Welch had a 46 for the Rams and Andrew Iannotti added a 53.

Scotia-Glenville 173, Gloversville 185

GLOVERSVILLE — Justin O’Neil finished with a 41 to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Gloversville at Kingsboro Golf Club.

Tom Omicinski posted a 43 for the Tartans, Kelly Mayette had a 44 and Grace Kochan added a 45.

Nick Vincent led Gloversville with a round of 41. Jacob Campione, Lane Daley and Logan Sweeney all had rounds of 48 for the Huskies.


Galway 12, Canajoharie 3

GALWAY — Ryan Lovelass finished with a 33 to lead Galway to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Canajoharie at Pioneer Hills Golf Course.

Nick Zuk and Josh Lovelass each had rounds of 46 for the Golden Eagles, while Sam D’Allesandro had a 50. Matt Smith posted a 53 for Galway and Collin Wieland added a 68.

Derek Countryman led Canajoharie with a 44, while Kyle Oertel had a 47. Jacob Montayne and Cian DiMezza each had rounds of 49 for the Cougars, while Tyler Christman posted a 59. Riley Montayne added a 59 for Canajoharie.

Middleburgh 12, Fort Plain 3

COBLESKILL — Josh Bruno carded a 49 to lead Middleburgh to a WAC victory over Fort Plain at Cobleskill Golf and Country Club.

Andrew Miaski had a 54 for the Knights, Josh Reinhart posted a 56 and Derek Mooney recorded a 57. Tyler Mann had a 59 for Middleburgh and Will Churchill added a 63.

Taylor Gifford led Fort Plain with a round of 41, while Damien Young had a 54.

Zackarie Young posted a 60 for the Hilltoppers, Evan Crouse carded a 67, and Seth Rivkowich and Luke Doxtater each had rounds of 72.
