H.S Volleyball Roundup: Lady Patriots post win over Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN — Cassy Bown finished with eight kills and three blocks to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-0 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council volleyball contest Friday.

The Lady Patriots won by scores 25-21, 26-24 and 25-20.

Madison Fariello posted five digs, three kills and two aces for Broadalbin-Perth (4-0 overall, 4-0 Foothills), while Eliana Fraser had 15 digs. Sydney Rogers added three aces for B-P.

Sydney Darling finished with 10 points, five kills, three aces and two digs to lead Johnstown (3-1 overall, 3-1 Foothills), while Zoe Petrie had 16 digs and four points. Sadie Blowers recorded 15 digs, seven points, four kills and three aces for the Lady Bills, Macenzie Ward had 23 assists, 12 digs, three kills and three points, and Amber Tesi notched seven kills.

Broadalbin-Perth is scheduled to host Queensbury on Wednesday at 6 p.m., while Johnstown is off until next Friday when it is scheduled to travel to Queensbury.

Gloversville 3, Scotia-Glenville 0

GLOVERSVILLE — Macey Salvione finished with 20 service points, 13 aces and nine kills to lead Gloversville to a Foothills Council victory over Scotia-Glenville.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-5, 25-20 and 25-14.

Aireana Muhlberger had 10 assists for Gloversville (1-2 overall, 1-2 Foothills), while Maddy Avery finished with nine digs and five kills.

Maddie Wright had 18 assists and two aces for Scotia-Glenville, while Serena Sweet had three kills and three blocks. Maya Bellamy added nine digs for the Tartans.

Gloversville is scheduled to host Hudson Falls on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Glens Falls 3, Amsterdam 1

AMSTERDAM — Ella Kules finished with 18 assists, 12 kills and eight aces to power Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam.

The Indians won by scores of 25-23, 20-25, 26-24 and 25-13.

Emily Barber had five kills and three aces for Glens Falls (3-2 overall, 2-1 Foothills), while Kasey Baars and Brooke Vassar each had five kills.

Leidy Ortiz-Rivera finished with 10 kills, five aces and two blocks for Amsterdam (1-3 overall, 1-2 Foothills), while Madi Carmona had nine assists and seven aces.

Adriana Santiago posted five kills and five assists for the Lady Rams, and Katelynn Demitraszek added three kills.

Amsterdam is scheduled to travel to the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Tournament today before hosting Mekeel Christian Academy in a non-league match Monday at 6 p.m.
