Dolgeville runners compete at sectionals

CHITTENANGO — The Dolgeville boys cross country team placed 13th in the Class D race at the Section III Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Chittenango High School.

Beaver River swept the top three spots in the 3.1-mile Class D boys race. Colton Kempney (17:51.0) was first for Beaver River, Cory Demo (18:09.2) was second and Josiah Evan (18:12.9) was third.

Jesse Bolster was Dolgeville’s top finisher, placing 34th with a time of 20:37.5

Cameron Jackson (21:26.0) was 56th, Dustin Benoit (22:51.2) was 91st, Ethan Humphrey (25:05.9) was 120th and Andrew Ashe (26:43.2) was 138th.

Beaver River won the Class D team title with 17 points, Sauquoit Valley was second with 100 points and Waterville was third with 129 points. Dolgeville was 13th with 344 points.

In the Class D girls race, Tully’s Brooke Rauber won with a time of 18:37.0.

South Lewis’ Lexi Leonard (19:36.1) was second and South Lewis’ Hannah Ielfield (19:55.7) was third.

April Bolster placed 135th for Dolgeville with a time of 31:30.9, while Sarah Countryman (36:10.4) was 148th.

Tully won the Class D girls team title with 47 points, while South Lewis was second with 48 points.

Beaver River finished third with 81 points. Dolgeville fielded an incomplete team.
