FMCC men, women romp past Cayuga

AUBURN — The Fulton-Montgomery men’s and women’s basketball teams each posted wins over Cayuga Community College on Wednesday.

The women posted a 68-48 victory, while the men notched a 98-71 win.

In the women’s game, Niaimani Marshall scored 16 points to lead four FMCC players in double figures.

Niasia Phillips had 14 points for the Lady Raiders (3-0 overall), McKiea Weekes scored 13 points and DiAsia DeBoue added 11 points.

Hannah Keyser scored 11 points to lead Cayuga (2-2 overall), while Payton Noeller added 10 points.

In the men’s game, Juwan Malone scored 20 points to lead the Raiders.

Amadou Diakite finished with 18 points for FMCC (2-0 overall), while Jahmr Jordan had 14 points. Darren Demmitt scored 11 points for the Raiders and Chris Toussaint and Jaleel Jean Jacques each had 10 points.

Both FMCC teams are scheduled to travel to Syracuse on Saturday to face Onondaga Community College. The women’s game is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by the men’s contest at 3 p.m.
