SYRACUSE — DiAsia DeBoue finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and five steals to lead the Fulton-Montgomery Community College women’s basketball team to a 59-53 victory over Hostos Community College in the Onondaga Community College Hoops Classic on Sunday.
Hostos came into the game ranked first in the National Junior College Athletic Association preseason poll after winning the national title last season.
FMCC trailed 30-27 at the half before outscoring the Caimans 33-20 in the second half to earn the victory.
Niaimani Marshall finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals for FMCC (2-0 overall), while Barbara Inez McKinney had 10 points and eight rebounds. McKiea Weeks grabbed 16 rebounds for the Lady Raiders.
Desiree Tolbert had 11 points to lead Hostos.
The Lady Raiders begin their Region 3 schedule Wednesday, when they travel to Cayuga Community College for a 5 p.m. contest.
