HERKIMER — The Herkimer Generals women’s soccer team, fresh off their fourth Region III Championship in five years, has placed six athletes on the 2018 All-Region and All-Mountain Valley Conference teams.
The Generals enter the NJCAA Division III National Championships at Rock Valley Community College (Ill.) with a record of 13-3-1.
Coach Jason Palkovic was named the Mountain Valley Conference Coach of the Year award and five of his athletes placed on the First Team All-Conference. Making the team were Maddie Renshaw (Herkimer), Caira Miles (Little Falls), Sarah George (Dolgeville), Ashley Capron (Burnt Hills) and goalie Rachel Todd (McGraw).
Senior Rachael Gross (Dolgeville) joined George, Todd, and Renshaw on the 2018 All-Region III first-team. Capron earned Second Team All-Region honors.
The Generals, ranked seventh in the latest NJCAA Division III national poll, will play in the National Tournament which will be held Thursday through Sunday in Rockford, Ill.
