CLIFTON PARK — Several Amsterdam wrestlers posted strong finishes at Shenendehowa’s Wrangle in the Plains tournament Saturday.
Joe Cerda posted a 4-0 record on the day to win the Elite Bracket 285-pound title, while Renso Montalvo won the Backbone Bracket 113-pound championship with a 5-0 record and Jacob Garcia went 4-0 on the day to win the 160-pound Backbone Bracket title.
Carlos Montalvo placed second in the 99-pound Elite Bracket with a 3-1 record, while Damian Montalvo placed second in the Backbone Bracket 170-pound division with a 3-1 record and Nathan Lucent placed third in the 220-pound division of the Backbone Bracket with a 2-2 record.
