Girls Basketball Roundup: Gannon lifts Amsterdam past South Glens Falls, 45-34

AMSTERDAM — Andie Gannon poured in 21 points to lead Amsterdam to a 45-34 victory over South Glens Falls in Foothills Council girls basketball action Saturday at Amsterdam High School.

Elena Fedullo finished with eight points for the Lady Rams, while Madi Carmona and Charli Beekman chipped in with five points apiece.

The Lady Rams played without the services of leading scorer Jackie Stanavich who was sidelined with an injury.

Sydney Hart paced South Glens Falls with 13 points, while Hannah Breen, Courtney Roberge and Zoe Lanfear all finished with four points.

Queensbury 74, Gloversville 43

QUEENSBURY — Hope Sullivan finished with 30 points, nine rebounds and four steals to power Queensbury to a Foothills Council victory over Gloversville.

The Spartans led 41-29 at the half and outscored the Lady Dragons 24-4 in the third quarter to break the game open.

Hailey Ballard had 24 points, nine rebounds and four steals for Queensbury (13-0 Foothills), while Meg O’Connor had six points, six assists and eight steals.

Madde Jones and Harmony Philo each had 13 points to lead Gloversville (10-5 overall, 9-4 Foothills), while Kendra Lavery added 12 points.

SCHUYLERVILLE — Mikyla Mitchell scored 18 points to power Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Schuylerville.

The Tartans used a balanced attack to defeat the Black Horses, with 10 different players scoring at least four points.

Ashlyn O’Neil had eight points for Scotia-Glenville (8-5 Foothills), while Megan Charnews, Jazmyne Corker and Promise Mitchell all had six points.

Jada Clarke scored seven points to lead Schuylerville (0-13 Foothills), which is slated to host Gloversville on Monday at 7 p.m.
