JOHNSTOWN — The sixth annual 5K Triple Crown was completed June 8 in Johnstown.
More than 300 runners took place in the three events which took place, on May 4 (Run for the Roses), May 18 (Johnson Jog) and June 8 (Lexington Run) to benefit local organizations — Glove Cities Rotary, Johnson Hall and Lexington Family Services.
The overall male winner was 23-year-old Gregory Bogdan of Broadalbin with a three-race total time of 52.12 and the overall female winner was 35-year-old Amanda Wilson of Broadalbin with a time of 1:04:23. Each received a trophy and a cash prize.
A total of 46 runners completed all three races.
There were cash prizes and medals awarded and other prize drawings for those who entered the Triple Crown. All Triple Crown entrants were automatically entered to win raffle prizes, including gift certificates, running gear, clothing and more. Runners also received a free Triple Crown shirt, as well as a shirt and goody bag for each of the three races.

In the men’s age 20-to-39 division, Fultonville’s Devin Franklin (1:05.25) was first, Broadalbin’s Aaron Bagwell (1:22.30) was second and Johnstown’s Scott Jeffers (1:22.47) was third.
Gloversville’s Jessica Brosat (1:11.19) was the top finisher in the women’s age 20-to-39 division, St. Johnsville’s Stephanie Klausen (1:11.38) was second and Amsterdam’s Larissa Melendez (1:14.25) was third.
In the men’s age 40-to-59 division, Gloversville’s Jamie Spraker (1:02.57) was first, Amsterdam’s John Modoski (1:03.47) was second and Fort Plain’s Justin Thalheimer (1:05.30) was third.
Amsterdam’s Emily Etzkorn led the women’s age 40-to-59 division with a total time of 1:13.24. Gloversville’s Jennifer Desjardens (1:15.27) was second and Niskayuna’s Karen Taft (1:20.37) was third.
Gloversville’s Roy Mowrey (1:10.32) won the men’s age 60-and-older division. Galway’s Terry Smith (1:17.36) was second and Amsterdam’s Ned Hort (1:19.50) was third.
Broadalbin’s Joan Boehme (2:22.27) won the women’s age 60-and-older division.
Medal Winners
Chatham’s Eli Russo was the top finisher in the boys age 15-and-younger division with a three-race total time of 53.52. Johnstown’s Alex Cwiakala (1:00.58) was second and Canajoharie’s Michael Harris (1:05.49) was third.
Johnstown’s Alexis Houser won the girls age 16-to-19 division with a total time of 1:24.35.
Broadalbin’s Greg Bogdan (52.12) led the men’s age 20-to-29 division, while Broadalbin’s Aaron Bagwell (1:22.30) was second.
In the women’s age 20-to-29 division, St. Johnsville’s Stephanie Klausen (1:11.38) was first, Amsterdam’s Larissa Melendez (1:14.25) was second and Gloversville’s Jessica Simonds (1:17.14) was third.

Broadalbin’s Amanda Wilson (1:04.23) led the women’s 30-to-39 age group, Gloversville’s Jessica Brosat (1:11.19) was second and Gloversville’s Katie Gifford (1:16.39) was third.
In the men’s age 40-to-49 division, Fort Plain’s Justin Thalheimer (1:05.30) was first, Gloversville’s Milo Gifford (1:09.13) was second and Johnstown’s Eric Houser (1:21.16) was third.
Gloversville’s Jennifer Desjardens (1:15.27) topped the women’s age 40-to-49 division. Niskayuna’s Karen Taft (1:20.37) was second and Johnstown’s Tammy Patrick (1:31.43) was third.
In the men’s 50-to-59 age group, Gloversville’s Jamie Spraker (1:02.57) was first, Amsterdam’s John Modoski (1:03.47) was second and Gloversville’s Shawn Krutz (1:14.31) was third.
Amsterdam’s Emily Etzkorn (1:13.24) was the top finisher in the women’s 50-to-59 age group. Broadalbin’s Mary Bagwell (1:37.43) was second and Gloversville’s Jennifer Ligon (1:52.06) was third.
In the men’s age 60-to-69 division, Gloversville’s Roy Mowrey (1:10.32) was first, Amsterdam’s Ned Hirt (1:19.50) was second and Amsterdam’s John Newell Jr. (1:52.23) was third.
Galway’s Terry Smith topped the men’s age 70-and-older division with a three-race total time of 1:17.36, while Johnstown’s Robert Fairman (1:39.21) was second.
Broadalbin’s Joan Boehme (2:22.27) led the women’s age 70-and-older division.
