Wells baseball loses in semifinals, 9-1

CHAZY — Ben Norcross and Traygan Coon combine on a three-hitter to lead top-seeded Chazy to a 9-1 victory over fourth-seeded Wells in a Section VII Class D baseball semifinal Wednesday.

Norcross struck out nine in four innings and Coon struck out five in three innings.

Norcross also had a triple and a double for the Eagles, while Riley Hanson had a soluble and a single.

Chazy will face second-seeded Schroon Lake/Bolton in the Class D championship game today at 1 p.m. at Chip Cummings Field at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Wells finished its season with a 6-4 overall record.
