Mohawks lose to Saugerties, 6-4

SAUGERTIES — Tyler Kelder and Hayden Travinski homered to lead Saugerties to a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Cantine Veterans Memorial Field on Sunday.

Kelder has a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning, while Travinski smacked a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Mitchell Sanford was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Stallions, Will Allocca was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Fritz Genther had a double and scored a run. Blake Crossing added a single and an RBI for Saugerties, which won its seventh straight game.

JD Mundy was 2-for-4 with a home run, double, two RBIs and two runs scored for Amsterdam, while Dalton Reese was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Michael Turconi added a double for the Mohawks, Bryce Brock had a single and scored a run, and Mitch Hartigan and Geordon Blanton each had a single.

It was the second straight loss for Amsterdam and it marks the first time this season that the Mohawks have lost back-to-back games.

Amsterdam (17-5 overall) is off today before hosting Glens Falls on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m.

Saugerties (14-9 overall) is slated to travel to Mohawk Valley on Tuesday for a 6:45 p.m. contest.
