JOHNSTOWN — The Fulton-Montgomery women’s volleyball team went 1-2 Saturday in pod play at the Raiders’ Den.
FMCC defeated Tompkins Cortland and lost to SUNY Broome and Corning Community College.
In the first match of the day, the Lady Raiders played Corning and they came out strong in the first set with a 25-22 win. The Red Raiders rallied to win the final three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-22.
Shelby Sherman had 10 kills, 10 digs and two blocks for Corning, while Megan Brown had five kills. Emilie Cole posted 12 digs for the Red Raiders, Emily Saltsman posted 17 digs, and Madison Georges added nine digs.
Macenzie Ward finished with 14 digs and 13 kills for FMCC, while Olivia Casey had 12 digs and seven kills. Emily Mormando tallied 20 assists for the Raiders.
In the second match, FMCC swept Tompkins Cortland, 3-0, winning by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-17.
Ward led the Raiders once again with 12 kills and Mormando finished with 23 assists and four digs. Casey added seven kills and seven digs for FMCC.
Molly Baker had six digs and five kills for Tompkins Cortland, while Natasha Feocco added seven assists.
In their final match of the day, the Lady Raiders lost 3-0 to SUNY Broome.
The Hornets won by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-9.
Savannah Davis finished with 17 kills and 12 digs for SUNY Broome, while Abigail Rose posted 19 digs.
Kylee Cunningham had 11 digs and seven kills for the Hornets, Brianna Kosinski posted 36 assists, nine digs and seven kills, and Macayla Greco recorded six kills.
Casey had 19 digs to lead FMCC (2-8 overall), while Ward had 10 kills and 10 digs. Mormando added 16 assists for the Lady Raiders.
The Lady Raiders are scheduled to host SUNY Adirondack in a Mountain Valley Conference match Wednesday at 6 p.m.
