Gloversville field hockey posts win

VALATIE — The Gloversville field hockey team picked up its first win of the season Saturday with a 4-3 victory in overtime against Ichabod Crane.

The teams finished regulation in a 3-3 tie and went to a 7 v 7 sudden victory overtime period.

Loghan Ovitt delivered the game winning goal for the Huskies four minutes into the overtime for the victory.

Ovitt scored all four of the Huskies goals in the match.

“Loghan played an excellent game,” Gloversville coach Amy Romeyn said. “This was a huge team effort tonight. They were tired but fourth to the end to get the win.”

Gloversville (1-1-0 overall, 0-1-1 Foothills) will return to Foothills Council play Thursday at South Glens Falls.
