Lady Wolves score overtime victory against Hoosick Falls

COLONIE — Alexis Mumford scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime to lift Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to a 3-2 win over Hoosick Falls in the Western Athletic Conference/Wasaren League Challenge at Afrim’s on Saturday.

Abby Johnson and Alexis Klock also scored for the Lady Wolves.

Sophie Estes and Phoebe Thompson scored for Hoosick Falls, while Maggie Brown added an assist.

Ashlee Shelmandine made five saves to earn the win in goal for OESJ (7-1-1 overall).

Zoey Becker made 12 stops for Hoosick Falls.

Fort Plain 6, Saratoga Catholic 1

COLONIE — Gabby Jenks and Autumn Todd each scored two goals to lead Fort Plain to a victory over Saratoga Catholic in the WAC/Wasaren League Challenge on Saturday at Afrim’s.

Cassandra Hart and Ryleigh Hart also scored for the Lady Hilltoppers.

Saratoga Catholic got its only goal on an own goal by Fort Plain.

Greenwich 4, Mayfield 1

COLONIE — Tess Merrill had a goal and two assists to lift Greenwich to a victory over Mayfield in the WAC/Wasaren League Challenge on Saturday at Afrim’s.

Ellery Mays had a goal and an assist for the Witches, while Faith Ingber and Cate Abate also scored. Katie Larmon added an assist for Greenwich.

Lindsey Hampton scored the lone goal for Mayfield.

Ryan Skiff made six saves for Greenwich (5-2-1 overall), while Kat Knecht had six stops for Mayfield.

Cambridge 8, Canajoharie 0

COLONIE — A six-goal second half lifted Cambridge to a victory over Canajoharie in the WAC/Wasaren League Challenge at Afrim’s on Saturday.

Vanessa Evans had three goals and an assist for the Indians, Sophie Phillips had two goals, and Sydney Benson posted a goal and an assist. Anna Headwell and Ruth Noland also scored for Cambridge (5-3 overall).

Galway 3, Corinth 1

GALWAY — Izzy Mancini netted all three goals to lead Galway to a non-league victory over Corinth on Saturday.

Rachel Wnuk, Stephanie Martin and Anna Meisenburg each had an assist for the Golden Eagles.

Grace Farr scored the lone goal for Corinth.

Hannah French made seven saves for Galway, while Teagan Kilinski made 10 stops for Corinth.

BOYS SOCCER

Galway 2, Middleburgh 1, OT

GALWAY — Konstantin Friederich scored in overtime to lead Galway to a 2-1 victory over Middleburgh in a Western Athletic Conference boys soccer contest Saturday.

Carson Scribner also scored for the Golden Eagles, while Charlie Clarke had two assists.

Troy Cammer scored the lone goal for Middleburgh on an assist from Andrew Johns.

Henry Flint made four saves to earn the win in goal for Galway, which outshot Middleburgh by a 21-6 margin.

Michael Terrell had eight stops for the Knights.

Cherry Valley-Springfield 3,

Fort Plain 0

CHERRY VALLEY — Larry Kroon scored twice to lead Cherry Valley-Springfield to a non-league victory over Fort Plain on Saturday.

Jeb Magruder also scored for the Patriots.

Fort Plain (3-7 overall) is scheduled to host Duanesburg on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.
