ALBANY — The Sage Colleges’ women’s volleyball team hosted Bard College on Wednesday night in the Gators’ 2019 home opener.
Sage earned the 3-1 win as they beat Bard for the first win of the season. Bard won the first set, 25-22, but the Gators took the next three sets, 25-23, 25-20, 27-25.
Graduate player Miranda Nethaway (Fonda-Fultonville) led the Gators with her 20.0 points as she added 18 kills with a .429 attack percentage. She also connected for nine digs and four block assists. She is now No. 5 on the career block list at Sage with her 204 career total blocks. Nethaway also ranks in the Top 25 at Sage with her 419 career kills.
Sage senior outside hitter Megan Ryder (Broadalbin-Perth) added a double-double as she finished with 28 digs and 11 kills and 12.5 points.
Sage (1-0 overall) is back in action on Friday and Saturday, hosting the Sage Fall Festival with Skidmore, Elms, Oneonta State, and Salem State all visiting Kahl Gym.
