Royal Mountain crowns 2019 track champions

CAROGA LAKE — The 2019 Monster Energy Supercross season came to an end Aug. 29 at Royal Mountain Ski Area.

As part of the final-night festivities, awards were given to the top finishers in the point standings for each class.

A total of 19 area riders collected trophies after winning the titles in their respective classes.

Fonda’s Carter Petersen won track titles in three different classes, while Fonda’s Tyler Blowers posted wins in two classes.

Petersen won the 122-125 two-stroke title after posting wins in seven of 10 races this season. Petersen also won the title in the 122-250 amateur class, claiming five wins on the season. He also collected the schoolboy 12- to 16-year-old class title after winning six times this season.

Fonda’s Tyler Blowers earned the track title in the 122-250 expert class after winning on three occasions during the season. Blowers also earned the 122-open expert title after posting two wins this season.

Gloversville’s Anthony Attigliato won the 122-250 novice class title, earning five victories this season.

Gloversville’s Salvatore Attigliato won the 122-open amateur title, posting six wins in 10 races.

Johnstown’s Hayden Zelich won the 122-open novice class title and was third in the 122-125 two-stroke class.

Fonda’s Timothy Wilmot won the final seven races of the season to earn the junior mini 9- to 11-year-old title. Wilmot also was fourth in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old standings.

Johnstown’s Maxx Miller won five races on his way to the mini 60 7- to 11-year-old title. Miller also was third in the junior mini 9- to 11-year-old point standings.

Johnstown’s Ethan Cornell claimed two wins this season on his way to the mini quad 50cc title.

Gloversville’s Shane Graham collected seven wins on his way to the pit bike class title, while Gloversville’s Sean Dufel won the plus-30 amateur title

St. Johnsville’s Burton Wilson notched seven wins on his way to the plus-30 expert title, while Johnstown’s Tom Hogan earned two wins on his way to the plus-40 amateur title.

Broadalbin’s Anthony Musto won the quad amateur title, Northville’s Eric Junquera won the quad expert title and Mayfield’s Andrew Ashbey won the quad novice title.

Ashbey posted seven wins this season, while Junquera claimed four victories.

Mayfield’s Jordan Miller won the quad schoolboy 12- to 16-year-old title, collection six wins on the season. Miller also was second in the pit bike class.

In addition to Blowers and Peterson, one other rider earned titles in multiple classes.

Westerlo’s Blake Shaver won the mini 80 12- to 15-year-old and the open mini 10- to 16-year-old titles.

Other champions included Ghent’s Sebastian Witherell (50cc 4-6), East Berne’s Finn Smith (50cc 7-8), Queensbury’s Brydon Broe (mini 80 9-11) and Esperance’s Rian Hynes (mini quad 51-90cc),

Witherell went a perfect 10-for-10 this season on his way to the 50cc 4- to 6-year-old title, while Smith won seven of 10 races to earn the 50cc 7-and-8-year-old title.

Several area riders posted top-five finishes in the point standings in their respective classes.

Gloversville’s Devin Buyce was fourth in the 122-250 two-stroke class. Buyce also was second in the schoolboy 12- to 16-year-old class.

Johnstown’s Brandon Handy was third in the 122-250 amateur class and third in the 122-open amateur class.

In the 122-250 expert class, Johnstown’s Kyle Pollak was second, Johnstown’s Adam Handy was third and Johnstown’s Casey Battisti was fourth.

Pollak also as second in the 122-open expert class, while Johnstown’s Adryan Pelosi was fifth.

In the plus-30 expert class, Johnstown’s Michael Ward was second and Fultonville’s T.J. Chicoski was third.

Nelliston’s Tyler Dygert was third in the 122-250 novice class, while Fonda’s Charles Rose was fifth.

Dygert also was second in the 122-open novice class, while Pattersonville’s Kyle Kiefner was fourth.

Gloversville’s Sal Attigliato Jr. was second in the 50cc 4- to 6-year-old class point standings.

In the 50cc 7-and-8-year-old class, Johnstown’s Kip Simonds was third, Gloversville’s Evan Darling was fourth and Johnstown’s Adam Handy was fifth.

Dolgeville’s Jim George was second in the mini 60 7- to 11-year-old standings, while Pattersonville’s Eason Baker was fourth.

In the plus-40 amateur class, Hagaman’s Joe Kulewicz was third and Gloversville’s Keith Orr was fourth.

Johnstown’s Bennett Melita was second in the mini 80 12- to 15-year-old point standings, while Galway’s Trevor Patterson was fifth.

Rose was second in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class, Melita was third and Pattersonville’s Marc Hartje was fifth.

Fonda’s Tyler Miller was second in the mini quad 50cc class, while St. Johnsville’s Blaire Wilson was fifth.

Gloversville’s Tyler Covey was second in the quad schoolboy 12- to 16-year-old class, while Fonda’s Skyler Olmstead was fourth.

In the plus-30 amateur class, Caroga Lake’s Chad Stumpf was fourth and Mayfield’s Nick Cross was fifth.

Fort Plain’s Kyle Oertel was fourth in the schoolboy 12- to 16-year-old class, while Tribes Hill’s Matheu Dettenrieder was fifth.

In the mini 51-90cc class, Gloversville’s Tyler Rizzo was second and Mayfield’s Chloe VanNostrand was fourth.

Broadalbin’s Shane Porter was fourth in the pit bike class.

Broadalbin’s Josh Deuel was third in the quad amateur class.

Broadalbin’s Eithen Salvione was second in the quad novice class, while Gloversville’s Anthony Covey was third.
