Scotia-Glenville shuts out Johnstown, 11-0

JOHNSTOWN — For the second time in as many meeting this season, Scotia-Glenville posted a lopsided win over Johnstown on Thursday.

After posting an 11-1 win at Scotia on Sept. 5, the Tartans scored eight second-half goals in an 11-0 Foothills Council South Division boys soccer contest Thursday at Johnstown High School.

Jared O’Connor led Scotia-Glenville with four goals and two assists, while Sam Storti netted three goals. Jaden Alas scored twice for Scotia-Glenville, Aidan Nichter had a goal and an assist and Seth Coluciello also scored. Kofi Jack and Connor Raven each added an assist for the Tartans.

Lucas Dempsey made three saves to post the shutout in goal for Scotia-Glenville.

Camron Sweet registered eight saves for Johnstown after coming on in relief of Josh Hoyt, who was injured in the opening moments of the game.

Queensbury 5, Hudson Falls 0

QUEENSBURY — Teddy Borgos netted three goals and had an assist to lead Queensbury to a Foothills Council North Division victory over Hudson Falls.

Asa Edwards and Vinny Maccharulo also scored for Queensbury (9-1 overall, 7-1 Foothills), while Peter Crawford, Alex Roca and Brendan Duffy each had an assist.

Ethan Willis finished with four saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Spartans, who outshot the Tigers by a 24-5 margin.

Joe Lapan made 11 saves for Hudson Falls (3-7-1 overall, 2-5-1 Foothills).
