HVCC sweeps past FMCC

JOHNSTOWN — The Hudson Valley Community College Vikings visited the Fulton-Montgomery Community College campus Thursday and took home a pair of victories.

The HVCC women topped the Lady Raiders 69-57, while the Vikings posted an 81-63 over the FMCC men.

Ryan Long hit four 3-pointers in a 16-point performance for HVCC, while Luke Bourgault finished with 17 points and Brandon McKenly had a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds to go with four blocks and two steals.

Javan Johns paced FMCC with his double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds to go with two blocks, while Ashton Pardie finished with 11 points, and Matthew Boyle chipped in with 10 points and two assists.

For the women, HVCC’s Emily Erickson had 25 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots. Alexandra Rifenburg finished with 17 points and six rebounds and Kennedi Leak chipped in with 13 points, four steals and two assists.

Hasijna Gaddy led FMCC with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Kendra Lavery finished with 13 points and eight rebounds and Jesse VanNostrand added 11 points and seven rebounds.
