Student-athletes honored by Empire 8

HILTON — The Sage Colleges’ had 47 student-athletes honored for their efforts in the classroom for the Fall of 2019 with the release of the Empire 8 Presidents’ List. A grand total of 655 student-athletes from the league’s membership were recognized for their excellence in the classroom this past semester with the President’s List distinction, one of most prestigious honors the conference recognizes.

Recipients of this honor must earn a 3.75 grade-point average or higher during the semester, while participating in an NCAA-sponsored sport. In addition, the student-athlete must display positive conduct on and off campus and be enrolled full-time at the member institution.

Canajoharie graduate Joshua Gonzales (men’s basketball), Broadalbin-Perth graduate Megan Ryder (women’s volleyball), Fort Plain graduate Desiree Suits (women’s volleyball) and Broadalbin-Perth graduate Joanna Tavolaro (women’s cross country) were among those honors.
