5K Triple Crown series canceled

JOHNSTOWN — In response to new guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control this week, limiting gatherings for events including sporting events, to less than 50 people (for at least eight weeks or longer), organizers of the 5K Triple Crown series in Johnstown have made the determination to cancel the series for 2020.

The series includes Rotary’s Run for the Roses 5K; Friends of Johnson Hall’s Johnson Jog; and the Lexington 5K & Run. The Rotary race was scheduled for May 2, with the Johnson Jog on May 16 and Lexington Run on June 6.

Organizers thanked presenting sponsor St. Mary’s Healthcare for their early commitment to supporting the event, as well as all of the other previous sponsors who have been a part of the races. They wished the best to all of the runners in the region, and their families, and said they look forward to bringing the series back in spring of 2021.
