DOLGEVILLE — The Fonda-Fultonville Braves posted an eight-stroke victory over Duanesburg to take team honors at the Western Athletic Conference golf championship Thursday at Hopson Hills Golf Club.
The Braves carded a team score of 176 to win the title over Duanesburg with 184. Canajoharie edged Schoharie for third 203-206, while Northville/Mayfield placed fifth with 208. Middleburgh placed sixth with 213 followed by Galway with 214, Fort Plain with 224, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 242 and Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville with 245.
Duanesburg’s John Grant took medalist honors with a round of 40 for the nine-hole tournament. Fonda-Fultonville’s Colin Kowalski and Noan Moran were second and third with rounds of 42 and 43, while Fort Plain’s Evan Crouse also carded a 43. Middleburgh’s John Bruno was fifth with his round of f44, while Fonda-Fultonville’s Alex Saltsman, Schoharie’s Luke Morganstien, Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s Will Boltri and Canajoharie’s Jack Krug all carded 45s.
