Fonda-Fultonville girls overpower Lady Wolves

FONDA — Kyla Smith poured in 16 points to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a 60-9 victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville in Montgomery County League girls basketball action Thursday night at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Smith added three rebounds and three steals for the Lady Braves, while Marilyn Whitcavitch pulled down five rebounds to go with 10 points and Quincy Lake finished with 10 points and two assists.

Kirsten Swartz led OESJ with four points, while Alexis Klock finished with three points and Sydney Eggleston chipped in with two points.

CANAJOHARIE — Toni May and Andie Gannon combined for 30 of Amsterdam’s 39 first-quarter points as the Lady Rams cruised to victory in Montgomery County League girls basketball action Thursday at Canajoharie High School.

May finished the game with 37 points, including 5 3-pointers, seven steals, four assists and four rebounds, while Gannon had a double-double of 24 points and 20 rebounds to go with six steals and four assists.

Jackie Stanavich finished with eight points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals for the Lady Rams, while Sierra Goodson added five points and five steals and Rosie Sculco had two points and five steals.

Felise Fowler, Vanessa VanSlyke, Angeline Clark and Megan Blakeslee scored four-points apiece for Canajoharie, while Kaijah Fowler had three points and Elizabeth Prime added one.
