Weaver leads Braves to win over Fort Plain

FONDA — The Fonda-Fultonville Braves got 14 points from Connor Weaver as they defeated Fort Plain 56-37 in Montgomery County League boys basketball action Monday night at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Jackson Cusack and Nick Hastings joined Weaver in double-digits for the Braves with 12 and 10 points respectively, while Colin Kowalski finished with nine points and Cayden Egelston chipped in with seven.

Robert Jordan scored a game-high 17 points for Fort Plain, while Joe Lemoine had five and Estee Smith and Clayton Welch hit for four-points apiece.

Canajoharie 55, OESJ 48

CANAJOHARIE — The Cougars rallied for 23 fourth-quarter points to defeat Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 55-48 in Montgomery County League action Monday at Canajoharie High School.

Robert Fairley led the Cougars comeback with eight of his game-high 22 points coming in the fourth quarter. Zach Suits added seven fourth-quarter points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to finish with 10 points. Canajoharie converted of 10 of 18 fourth-quarter free throws.

Travis LaFountain paced the Wolves with 21 points, while Mason Snell hit for 13 and Paetyn Logan-Dillenbeck added 11 to go with three points from Hunter Smith.

Galway 38, Corinth 28

GALWAY — Braden Shader connected for 12 of his game-high 17 points in the second half to help Galway turn back Corinth 38-28 in Saratoga County League action Monday at Corinth High School.

Rowan Smith added seven points for the Golden Eagles, while Henry Flint chipped in with six.

Nick Sorbera paced Corinth with nine points, while Alex Wiseman, Gabe Allen and Zach guilder all had four points for the Tomahawks.

ST. JOHNSVILLE — Canajoharie used balanced scoring from nine players as the Lady Cougars cruised to a 51-10 victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville in Montgomery County League girls basketball action Monday night.

Elizabeth Prime led Canajoharie with eight points, while Kaijah Fowler and Megan Blakeslee had seven points apiece and Mizal Fowler, Vanessa VanSlyke and Angelina Clark all scored six points.

Sydney Eggleston led OESJ with four points, while Kaylea Hickey and Kirsten Swartz scored two points apiece and Anderson Eggleston and Destiny Flanders both scored one point.

FORT PLAIN — Fonda-Fultonville got scoring from its complete line-up for Monday’s Montgomery County League game against Fort Plain.

Lindsay Lombardoni led the Lady Braves with 15 points, while Kyla Smith finished with 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Kieonna Christmas and Marilyn Whitcavitch finished with nine-points apiece.

Tiffany Hazzard led Fort Plain with five points, while Erin Crouse had four points and Marissa Wilder added three points.

Galway 60, Corinth 33

GALWAY — Julia Reedy connected for 10 of her game-high 18 points in the first half to lead Galway to a 60-33 victory over Corinth in Saratoga County League girls basketball action Monday at Galway High School.

Ryan Ripepi hit three first-quarter 3-pointers en route to her 17-point performance, while Emma Sparado also connected for three 3-pointers in her 13-point effort.

Emily Dingmon paced Corinth with 14 points, while Deandra Gill hit for eight points and Cassandra Decker finished with seven points for the Tomahawks.
