B-P outlasts Johnstown in five-set battle

JOHNSTOWN — Lily Mitchell finished with 28 assists, six aces and three kills to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-2 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council volleyball match Monday at Johnstown High School.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-21, 21-25, 28-26, 16-25 and 25-18.

Sophia Rogers recorded 18 kills, three aces and two digs for B-P (2-1 overall, 2-1 Foothills), while Olivia Fraser finished with six kills, four digs and three aces. Kiaira Tomlinson added six kills and three aces for the Lady Patriots, who are scheduled to host Amsterdam on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Teianna Frasier posted 19 assists, three aces and one kill for Johnstown (1-1 overall), while Sadie Blowers finished with 10 digs, 10 kills and four aces. Annika Byrnes recorded five digs, two blocks, one kill and one assist for the Lady Bills, and Gabby Elwood finished with eight digs, six kills and three aces.

Johnstown is scheduled to travel to Gloversville on Thursday for a 6 p.m. match.

Gloversville 3, Scotia-Glenville 0

GLOVERSVILLE — Aireana Muhlberger recorded 30 assists, 15 service points and four aces to lead Gloversville to a sweep of Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council match at Gloversville High School.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-11.

Macey Salvione posted 16 kills, 12 digs, nine service points and six aces for Gloversville, Maddy Avery notched eight digs and six kills, and Alana Biasini added eight service points and five kills.

Mia Wood had four assists and two aces for Scotia-Glenville, while Jojo Mustico posted six digs. Gabriela Harrigan added eight digs for the Tartans.

Gloversville (2-0 overall, 2-0 Foothills) is scheduled to host Johnstown on Thursday at 6 p.m.


Shenendehowa 3, Galway 0

CLIFTON PARK — Ryan Ennist had eight kills and seven assists to lead Shenendehowa to a non-league victory over Galway.

The Plainsmen won by scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-14.

Grace Almeida recorded seven kills and seven blocks for Shenendehowa, while Reagen Ennist contributed seven kills. Kasia Barletta added 20 digs for the Plainsmen.

Julia Reedy had 15 digs and nine kills for Galway, while Katy Kurtzner posted 18 digs. Sadie Underwood finished with five blocks for the Golden Eagles.

Galway (0-1 overall) is scheduled to host Fonda-Fultonville today in its Western Athletic Conference opener at 6:30 p.m.
