H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Galway gets past Mayfield

GALWAY — Julia Reedy finished with 13 kills and five aces to lead Galway to a 3-1 victory over Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-12, 25-4, 15-25 and 25-13.

Amber Kolpakas registered 14 service points and 11 kills for Galway (3-2 overall, 2-0 WAC), while Anna Dabrowski posted five blocks and two kills. Diana Colangelo notched eight blocks and four kills for the Golden Eagles, and Sophia Fasolino added 15 assists.

Deandra Myers finished with nine kills and an ace to lead Mayfield (0-1 overall, 0-1 WAC), while Lila King posted 17 assists and three aces.

Galway is scheduled to travel to Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. match.

Mayfield is slated to host Johnstown today at 6 p.m.

Galway travels to OESJ on Thursday in a league match, and Mayfield hosts Johnstown tomorrow in a non-league match.

Mekeel Christian 3, Middleburgh 2

SCOTIA — Chloe Ekstein finished with 24 assists, 10 service points and two aces to help Mekeel Christian Academy to a five-set victory over Middleburgh in a Western Athletic Conference match Tuesday.

Mekeel Christian won by scores of 25-17, 19-25, 10-25, 25-20 and 25-17.

Rose Seredensky posted 13 kills and eight service points for Mekeel Christian (3-0 overall, 3-0 WAC), Isabella Luna had 13 service points and two aces, and Amelia Armao had 13 service points, six aces and five kills. Hannah Graham-Parker finished with seven service points and five kills for Mekeel Christian, while Alanah Barnhill added four blocks and two kills.

Hallie Gasner recorded 10 kills, three blocks and three aces for Middleburgh (2-1 overall, 2-1 WAC), while Anna Hooper notched 11 assists and five aces.

Bishop Gibbons 3, Duanesburg 1

DUANESBURG — Kathryn Braun finished with 19 service points and seven aces to lead Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Duanesburg on Tuesday.

The Golden Knights won by scores of 25-18, 25-8, 22-25 and 25-15.

Ryenne Relyea and Adia Corbin each had six kills for Bishop Gibbons, while Victoria Jaworowski added five kills.

Ella Moses had nine service points to lead Duanesburg, while Lorel Johnson had five digs, five service points and three aces.

Grace Sexton had four service points for the Eagles, Jahnna Pallutti posted five service points and five digs, and Rileigh Wilsey recorded four service points and two blocks.

Non-league

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 3, Galway 0

BURNT HILLS — Carlie Rzezotarski finished with 17 kills to power Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to a sweep of Galway on Saturday.

The Spartans won by scores of 25-5, 25-17 and 25-8.

Claire Isaksen posted 30 assists for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.

Katy Kurtzner finished with 16 dogs and six kills for Galway, while Amber Kolpakas added 11 digs and five kills.
