Third quarter surge lifts Dragons to win over Mayfield

MAYFIELD — Holding a slim 19-17 advantage at the half, the Gloversville Dragons opened the second half with a 9-0 run and pulled away to defeat Mayfield 61-39 in Fulton Five league action Tuesday night at Mayfield High School.

James Collar led the Dragons with 28 points, six steals, five rebounds and three assists, while Anthony Gray hit four 3-pointers for 12 points to go with four steals and Garrett Dooling and Gio Glionna pulled down 10 rebounds apiece.

Jake Petoff, Aidan Halloran and Kyle Capparello scored eight points apiece for Mayfield. Capparello added eight rebounds to his stats, while Halloran finished with six rebounds and four assists.

Gloversville (3-3) will travel to play Johnstown (1-4) tonight, while Mayfield (3-3) will head to Northville (1-4) tonight.

NORTHVILLE — Alex DiCaterino connected for five 3-pointers in his 21-point performance to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 64-46 victory over Northville in Fulton Five league action Tuesday at Northville High School.

Jackson Sassanella finished with 18 points for the Patriots (6-0), while Ryan Visco added 14 points.

Wyatt Sira paced Northville with 17 points, while Jacob Frank had 16 and Daniel VanNostrand chipped in with eight points.

Northville (1-4) will host Mayfield (3-3) tonight at 6:30, while the Patriots have the night off.

CORINTH — Bredan Shader hit four 3-pointers in his game-high 18 point effort to lead Galway to a 62-39 Saratoga County League victory over Corinth Tuesday night at Corinth High School.

Braden Bourdeau and Henry Flint added 10 points apiece for the Golden Eagles (3-8).

Gabe Allen finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for Corinth, while Dillon Dumas had 10 rebounds and eight points and Alex Wiseman had eight rebounds to go with six points.
