FORT PLAIN — Canajoharie avenged a 2-1 loss to Fort Plain a week ago with a 2-0 victory Friday at the Fort Plain Sports Complex.
Cody Haig broke a scoreless halftime deadlock with a goal midway through the second half off a feed from Braden Greenslete to put the Cougars up 1-0.
Tommy Weingart pushed the final score to 2-0, converting on a penalty kick late in the match to give the Cougars their second-straight victory.
“All 18 guys got in the game today and all played well,” Canajoharie coach Kevin Stuttle said. “This was really a total team effort. We really put together a great game, just need to fine tune our attacks and get better chances.”
Stuttle credited sweeper Tommy Jenks and goalkeeper Andrew Meka with having solid defensive games as well as Weingart, Noah Colburn and Sam Sunderland for their strong games on offense.
