Dragons drop non-league match to Ballston Spa

GLOVERSVILLE — Adam Amami and Brayden Box each scored twice to lead Ballston Spa to an 8-2 non-league victory over Gloversville at Gloversville High School on Saturday.

Alex Bailey, Aidan Clark, Ryan Nagengast and Evan Phelps also scored for the Scotties, while Justin Waters had an assist.

Tommy Kluska and Kazuma Lomanto scored for Gloversville.

Damon Scroter made two save for Ballston Spa.

Justin Kemmet made 12 stops for the Dragons.

Gloversville (2-3 overall, 2-2 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to Broadalbin-Perth on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest.

Scotia-Glenville 6,

Amsterdam 0

SCOTIA — Connor Raven scored twice to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam on Saturday.

Kofi Jack and Sam Storti each had a goal and an assist for the Tartans, while Nate Estes and Quinn Fasciglione also scored.

Jaiden Alas had two assists for Scotia-Glenville, while Xavier DeLuca added one assist.

Zach Place made two saves to post the shutout in goal for the Tartans.

Lucca Quatrini made 12 stops for Amsterdam.

Schuylerville 3,

South Glens Falls 1

SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Balasai Witt, Cam Wian and Reid Rockhill all scored to lead Schuylerville to a Foothills Council victory over South Glens Falls on Saturday.

Lucas Cottrell, Sam Tyler and Liam Armstrong each had an assist for the Black Horses.

Caden French scored the lone goal for South Glens Falls.

Grifffen Brophy made five saves for Schuylerville, while Logan Kurtz (3 saves) and Willis Bickford (5 saves) split time in goal for South Glens Falls.

Queensbury 2, Glens Falls 1

QUEENSBURY — Sam Rowley and Max Roca each had a goal and an assist to lead Queensbury to a Foothills Council victory over Glens Falls on Saturday.

Jack Motsiff scored the lone goal for Glens Falls (2-4 overall, 2-3 Foothills).

Kyle Fitzgerald and Sean Seeley combined to make five saves for Queensbury (3-2 overall, 3-1 Foothills).

Ben Difiore made seven saves for the Indians.

Western Athletic Conference

Northville 1, Mayfield 0

FONDA — The Northville Falcons scored the lone goal of the match 14 minutes into the game to take home the Western Athletic Conference victory over Mayfield Sunday from the turf field at John G. Boshart Field at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

The Falcons score came off a corner kick put in play by Curtis Arnold that the Mayfield goalkeeper got a hand on but it wasn’t enough as the ball found the back of the net for the score.

Mayfield came out of halftime determined to get back into the match. Led by Jake Petoff and Kenny Dennis the Panthers pressured the Falcon defense.

The Northville defense held them off as Landon Frasier and Daniel VanNostrand combined for 3 saves in goal for the shutout.

Aiden Martuscello played well in the nets for Mayfield recording five saves.

OESJ 9, Canajoharie 0

FONDA — Mason and Andrew Snell accounted for seven of Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville’s goals as the Wolves to take home the Western Athletic Conference victory over Canajoharie Sunday from the turf field at John G. Boshart Field at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Mason Snell finished with four goals and an assist, while Andrew Snell had three goals and an assist. Dylan Barnes and Jordon Simzer scored to round out the OESJ scoring.

Andrew Meeka collected nine saves in goals for Canajoharie, while Travis LaFountain had one save in net for OESJ.

GIRLS SOCCER

Scotia-Glenville 8,

Amsterdam 0

SCOTIA — Rylee O’Connor had a goal and two assists to lead Scotia-Glenville to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam on Saturday.

Sage Luke finished with a goal and an assist for the Tartans, while Lily Dempsey, Brooklyn Drago, Isabella Getter, Maggie Obman and Susie Sidlauskas also scored. Lucy Crounse added two assists for Scotia-Glenville, while Morgan Nichter had one assist.

Kortney Clark made four saves to post the shutout in goal for Scotia-Glenville.

Queensbury 2, Glens Falls 0

QUEENSBURY — Christina Cummings scored to help Queensbury earn a Foothills Council victory over Glens Falls on Saturday.

The Spartans also benefited from an own goal by the Indians.

Emma Lemery made one save to notch the shutout in goal for Queensbury.

Robin Gorton made seven saves for Glens Falls.

Western Athletic Conference

Northville 3, Mayfield 1

FONDA — Northville got first-half goals from Hannah Hoffman and Ciara Thompson to build a 2-1 halftime lead and held off a determined Mayfield squad to take home the Western Athletic Conference victory over Canajoharie Sunday from the turf field at John G. Boshart Field at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Jill Botch accounted for the Lady Panthers’ first half score with a 30-yard shot that found the back of the net.

The Lady Falcons Grace Forsey added an insurance goal in the opening minute of the second half to secure the 3-1 victory.

For the match Northville held n 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Canajoharie 2, OESJ 2

FONDA — Ashley Engle hit her second score of the match just under eight minutes to play to tie the match and earn a draw between the the top teams in the standings in Western Athletic Conference action Sunday on the turf field at John G. Boshart Field at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Engle staked Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville to an early lead, converting on a penalty kick 9:30 into the match.

Canajoharie’s Caitlyn Baker finished an assist from Victoria Adams at the 31:10 mark to send the game into halftime tied at one apiece.

Baker put the Lady Cougars ahead with her second goal of the match off an assist fron Vanessa VanSlyke just two minutes into the second half.

Engle scored the equalizer for the Wolfpack at the 31:40 mark of the second half off an assist from Kaylea Hickey.

The game finished at the end of regulation as no overtime periods are played at neutral sites.

Canajoharie’s Shelly Ann hemmes made seven saves on nine OESJ shots, while Anderson Eggleston collected four saves in goal for the Wolves on seven Canajoharie shots.

Non-league

Ballston Spa 8, Gloversville 0

GLOVERSVILLE — Kelly DuBois and Isabelle Griswold finished with two goals apiece as Ballston Spa defeated Gloversville in non-league action Saturday at Gloversville High School.

Makayla Kruzinski, Sara Phelps and Bree Lawrence added goals for the Scotties, while Morgan Leggieri had to assists to go with assists from DuBois, and Gillian Snyder.

Meredith Dennie made 10 saves in goal for Gloversville and Kat Houle collected two saves in goal for Ballston Spa.
